Phelan Elementary School is focusing on an early reading program which will ensure that all students will read successfully by the end of the third grade. All teachers are receiving instruction in the most effective strategies for improvement in reading skills. The use of technology is woven into activities found in the classroom. A new a larger library, computer, and media center provides opportunities for preparing students for the age of technology. An active staff and parent support team reviews the student programs and suggests changes to best meet the educational needs of all students.
