Wrightwood Elementary opened in 1928 with ten students in the bunkhouse. The present site was built in 1936 as a one-room school. The bunkhouse remained in the multipurpose area until 1946 when it became a church. The school carries a history of excellence as it began in 1928 as an independant district and in 1982 became part of the Snowline District. In 1989, the school was awarded the prestigious California Distinguished School Award. The Wrightwood School provides a strong foundation in the academic skill areas with parents, teachers, and students working together to form a successful school experience. During the winter months, the Parent Teacher Group sponsors a ski program in the afternoon which gives the students an opportunity to learn to ski. A winter enrichment program is offered simultaneously for those not wishing to ski. Accountability Report (PDF) |
