Piņon Mesa Middle School is a California Distinguished School and is noted for its outstanding academic and extracurricular programs. Strong instructional programs are found in all core subject areas. Extensive involvement in science and math activities are provided through use of the weather station, fish room, and environmental site. A state-of-the-art computer lab provides an opportunity for all students to obtain a working knowledge of computers. Students have access to technology for doing research and completing reports in all courses. Outstanding vocal and instrumental music classes provide direct access into the high school's performance program.
