1981 - 2000 1981: The Old Firehouse Museum was incorporated and was dedicated to the community in 1986 by the Historical Society under the leadership of President Frances Yarnell in a joint effort with San Bernardino County. 1996: The Grassy Hollow Visitor Center was constructed six miles west of Wrightwood on Highway 2. Numerous residents from Wrightwood and the surrounding communities serve as volunteers at Grassy Hollow. 1999: Two new parks were dedicated in Wrightwood: Vivian Null Park, west of the Community Center and the Hollis M. Stewart Children's Park on Pine Street. The Fire Engine Murals painted on the exterior of the Wrightwood Museum by artists Karin Jordal and Sue Fullerton, were dedicated to the community by the Wrightwood Historical Society. 2000: The The Historical Society restored the upper portion of the Wrightwood Museum, the fireman's quarters, and dedicated the new addition to the volunteer firemen. |
